Yoga Nidra Workshop Exploring Integrative Restoration - iRest
with Richard Miller: June 18 - 20, 2010

Friday, Saturday, Sunday Evening
Introduction to the teachings of Nondualism and iRest Yoga Nidra.

Integrative Restoration – or iRest - is a modern adaptation of the ancient yogic meditative process of yoga nidra (yoga = awake as unconditioned well-being, and nidra = across all states of consciousness.). This workshop will guide you through the process of iRest using lecture, interactive dialogue, and experiential practice sessions. You will learn iRest as an effective tool that you can integrate into both your personal and professional practice. The workshop will challenge and inspire you to approach yourself and your work with students and/or clients as a portal for experiencing the healing and ever-present nature of unconditioned well-being.

Successful research has been conducted with the US military assessing the efficacy of iRest for healing stress-related disorders (PTSD) in active duty soldiers. Significant research results have also been obtained using iRest with anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, chemical dependency, homelessness, and college students. The protocol for these studies was developed by Richard Miller and written about in his book 'Yoga Nidra: The Meditative Heart of Yoga and in The Sacred Mirror: Nondual Wisdom and Psychotherapy'.

No previous experience in the practice of Yoga Nidra is required.

Friday evening’s session is valuable as a stand alone workshop and will introduce the principles and practice of iRest.

Saturday and Sunday form an integrated workshop in which, through lecture, discussion and plenty of practice, you will learn how to:

    * learn Yoga Nidra as both an individual and group practice
    * track yourself and students/clients according to the Ten Stages of iRest
    * understand the koshas and their use in healing and awakening
    * diffuse resistance through harnessing the power of ‘welcoming’
    * utilise the power of 'opposites' to empower healing
    * utilise pure awareness as the underlying source of healing.
