End of Year Gift of Hope

I'm writing to you because I know that you have been touched by the power of the teachings that we are offering through our classes, workshops, retreats, and/or iRest® programs. I ask that you reflect on the value you have received from these teachings that I am offering, and to consider what the world would be like if more people had the benefit of receiving them.

Please consider becoming a more involved member of our community.

One student's experience:

"Welcome sadness and disappointment… Welcome limitation… Welcome liberation…
Release into Pure Awareness… There is an ocean that dissolves me.
Dissolves the punishment, and doubt, and distress, and disease… I float and offer these freely. Welcome love and offer it back freely. Welcome joy and offer it back freely." ~ An iRest Student with Multiple Sclerosis

I am proud to tell you that since 2006 thousands have experienced our offerings, and over 600 students have received personalized advanced training in our iRest Yoga Nidra program. As a result, many more are receiving our teachings through their guidance, from grievously wounded individuals including soldiers and veterans from the Iraq, Afghanistan, Gulf, Vietnam and even Korean and WWII wars, to people experiencing homelessness, and even reaching as far as the young people in Rwanda. It is richly rewarding to offer people something simple that truly changes their lives. The results have been spectacular. Read for yourself:

"I’m sleeping through the night for the first time since my experience in Vietnam." ~ Vietnam vet

"As a result of iRest Yoga Nidra I feel like I’m experiencing life … not just living it." ~ OIF Wounded Warrior

"I love this class. I am the happiest I’ve ever been. This class is helping me physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am learning how to love and accept myself for the first time in my life." ~ Homeless Man

"With the help of a scholarship I was able to attend the iRest Level I training, which has had a tremendously positive impact on my life. I would do anything to help my husband, who is suffering from a traumatic brain injury. I feel iRest is a program that will help him heal, and me cope while I help him in his recovery process. I would love to be able to, in turn, help other Marines learn iRest, and do this full time. I would like to continue my training and be able to reach out to other soldiers, veterans, and their families. We need your help. Ask yourself how you can help and believe in America. Please share." ~ An iRest Teacher and Military Spouse

We continue to pursue research opportunities with both new and established research partners. For instance, an iRest clinical study was recently conducted at an East Coast Chemical Dependency Treatment Program, which concluded that iRest had a significant impact on reducing negative mood and risk for relapse. As a result, the treatment facility plans a follow up study during the winter of 2010. We are currently consulting on research projects for using iRest with couples and families, for helping people suffering PTSD, chronic pain, sleep disorders, and multiple sclerosis. Research such as this allows IRI to expand the conversation and expand the impact of our teachings in the world. Imagine the peace we are bringing to communities in need as more and more people understand how our programs support, enhance, and at times even go beyond what other interventions are offering.

We’ve named our giving society Bright Lights. Your joining our Bright Lights Community now will help us achieve our present and future goals. We would like you to seriously considering making a 3-year commitment. Three years is the average length of study it takes to train a Certified iRest Teacher®, or to develop and launch a new program, such as our iRest for Kids or iRest for Veterans programs. Each teacher and program increases our capacity to deliver these teachings exponentially.
